INTRODUCTION
The evolution of text is a captivating concept especially in this digital age. Traditional literacy has expanded from what now could be considered to be restrictive forms of reading and writing to a new digital literacy where oral and print based tools are joined with multimedia technology . Today's computers, software programs and the invention of electronic gadgets are bringing vast opportunities, both in or outside the classroom, for reading, writing, and sharing through online communication of cultural and social ideas. Global users are now able to apply their technological skills to demonstrate their understanding multi-modally. It is very exciting to see these emerging technologies, such as the Internet, engaging learners in a global context, while at the same time, encouraging the advancement of reading and writing skills.. Through collaboration, social media, YouTube, hypertext, and web 2.0 apps, there is an ongoing transfer of control whereby users have become the producers of information, rather than simply consumers of information. Students are no longer passive recipients of knowledge, rather they have become knowledge builders. This website will give a brief glimpse of the evolution of text.
